Probably the largest problem with being a small business owner is there in that phrase, Small. Means few or no employees Small. Small means you end up doing most, if not absolutely all, business tasks yourself. Whether you’re worthwhile at them. But if you ARE perfectly capable at completing those tasks even, is doing them really a smart use of your energy? As a business owner, you should be focused on the big things – a vision for your business, putting an idea to attain that vision together, developing services, spending time with your clients, and marketing. Quite simply, those “big picture” jobs that grow your business.

What you should NOT be doing is fretting about getting the invoices out, mailing products, providing troubleshooting help, arranging your time, and all those other administrative responsibilities. In fact, the more time you spend on all the minutia of running a business, the less time you’ll spend on tasks that can actually increase your business. It’s a vicious cycle. Maybe you feel like you don’t have income to hire help enough.

So you do the work yourself. Because you are doing the task yourself, you don’t have the time to focus on growing your business. So then you don’t feel like the income is had by one to hire help. The same cycle exists in the event that you feel you don’t have sufficient time to locate and train help. You finish up carrying it out yourself because there isn’t anyone who can help. And because you’re so active doing things you truly haven’t any business doing, you’ll do not have the time to find and train you to definitely give you a hand. In either cycle, you’re discovering you are feeling overwhelmed probably, drained and with zero creative energy.

Instead of jumping out of bed excited at being in business, you wake up every morning facing a to-do list much longer than War and Peace and attempting to crawl back to bed and put your pillow over your head. So what’s the answer? Hire a van. Virtual assistants, known as VAs also, are freelancers who specialize in taking care of the “busy work,” freeing you up so you can concentrate on why you started your business to begin with.

As can break you out of both those cycles and put you on the path to creating a successful business. They can help you with just about every business job imaginable (with the only real exception of processing – you’re probably stuck doing that yourself).

You’ll have significantly more time to devote to the tasks you most enjoy (rather than fighting the ones you hate), you’ll be less stressed and have much more creative energy.

Plus you’ll probably end up making even more money. Ready to try a VA but not sure how to get started? I suggest starting small. Like five hours per month. Make a list of all you do in your business every day. If you get stuck, keep a notebook on your desk and jot down things as you take action. Go through the list Now. Pick something you could delegate to a van and would take around five hours per month.

Once you find the appropriate VA and have freed up those five hours, be sure you use those hours to do something to increase your business. Maybe, do even more marketing or create new products. Now after you’ve started seeing more money, take some of that extra cash and add to your VA’s tasks. Again, use enough time you’ve freed up to keep increasing your business.

Before you understand it, you’ll have built a flourishing, successful business with less stress and have more energy and income than ever before. That may appear unfair to these men, but someone should have told you that life isn’t fair. And, unless you focus on your own behalf to boost your circumstances, it will be harder and less fair.
