Here is a makeup look that I created using the colors that were chosen for me when I went to the home of Chanel in Paris. As I described in my earlier post, I met an extremely kind and ‘tres elegant’ woman named Caroline Ghisolfi who helped me choose tones that complemented my skintone which also were ‘elegant’.
Oh, La la – Tres Chic! I had a complete lot of ‘a ha’ moments about beauty while I was in Paris. This year I’ve really come to discover that beauty actually has more to do with inner beauty. You see my new school of thought is that beauty works in something of ‘layers’ and it all begins at the same core – your spirit/spirit!
When your heart shines forth from within, you are your most beautiful – all you do once you’ve ignited your spirit is simply a representation of the wonder that you possess within. Makeup is actually one of the last levels – it is what you connect with that person, but it’s your inner beauty that is shown through your eyes that really makes you sparkle. How Magnifique is that?
This is the ultimate step in cleansing my energy-I even surely got to take it house with me after I leave so that I can “cleanse” myself every retrograde. Sound a little out there? Yes, but after leaning into the experience completely, I remain the spa feeling amazing. Even as I walked past a crowded pool back again to my room with music blasting and water splashing everywhere, I felt so Zen. Your day continues on As, I experienced more grounded than I’ve in weeks. I even saw-and you can’t make this up-a shooting star that night. I think it was the universe’s way of telling me I was alright.

How Do We Attain Beauty? But how shall we attain it? Who’s deserving to behold the all-holy Maker of the universe? What then can we do? For not just have we sinned, but in our sin we have become so blind and hard that the reflections of God’s beauty in the world and in the Bible scarcely move us.
It is really as though a dark veil is situated over our minds. The Word of God in 2 Corinthians 3 and 4 describes for us in our plight and how the pathway to eternal joy and beauty can be opened up before us. Follow the thread of Paul’s thought beside me. Paul says in verse 6 of chapter 3 that he could be a minister of a new covenant.
The old covenant was a covenant of regulations given through Moses on Mount Sinai. This statutory regulation was holy, just, and good, and pointed to the true way of salvation. But as a written code in addition to the gracious enabling work of the Holy Spirit its impact was to make people aware of sin and pronounce condemnation and loss of life. But a fresh era has come since the death and resurrection of the Messiah, Jesus Christ.
It is the era of the Spirit which is currently being poured out on all flesh (Acts 2:17) as the gospel of Christ spreads through all the nations. In 2 Corinthians 3:7-11 Paul contrasts the wonder of God that was manifested in the old covenant and the beauty manifested in the new covenant. However, in verses 12ff. We meet the hurdle to the experience.
Paul, for his part, is very vibrant and forthright in his preaching (verse 12 says); he could be nothing like Moses who veiled his shining face lest the fading is seen by the glory. This isn’t only the nagging problem of Israel; it too is our problem. How can the veil be lifted from our minds so that we can see not only the fading glory of the old covenant but also the surpassing Beauty of God in the new covenant?
